Summer
Summertime at the Mazama Country Inn offers many activities for the outdoor enthusiast. The days are warm, the nights are cool, and there's very little rain. We have experts on staff to help you plan the perfect day hike (don't forget your camera, deer and marmot sightings are quite common). The Pasayten Wilderness and North Cascades National Park offer miles of trails leading to lakes, waterfalls, wildflowers and wildlife. The Inn has mountain bikes for rent, or bring your own and ride for miles on the mountain trails. If you enjoy horseback riding, we can arrange for a guided trail ride.

If you like a more relaxed,
slower paced getaway, you can stroll the nature paths, delight in the exceptional
bird watching, or just read a book in the sitting room.

| Winter
In the winter, cross-country skiing is our specialty. We have our own ski rental shop at the Inn and our ski instructors offer tours and lessons for all abilities. Over 100 miles of groomed ski trails extend from outside our door. You can try an overnight wilderness trip in the nearby hut system, or ride a helicopter to slopes of deep untouched powder snow. Guided heli-skiing is available for cross-country or downhill skiers.

Spring
and Fall
Birds,
fishing, wildflowers, wildlife, all of these things are plentiful in the
fall and spring at the Mazama Country Inn. Springtime can be a very quiet
time at the Inn. Take a leisurely stroll or more ambitious hike through wi
ldflowers. Bring binoculars
for bird watching. You can visit the quaint little western town of Winthrop
and do some shopping, or just walk along the boardwalk. If you need some excitement,
there is white water rafting. You can also catch some late season heli skiing
or back country skiing. |

During the Fall we have a spectacular natural display of fall colors here in the valley. The days are often warm and yet the crowds are gone, so fall means some of the best hiking and mountain biking of the year. A perfect time for a retreat.
